And, You?

People are starving for motivation. I see it every day. Ben Lionel Scott has the best motivational videos. He has thousands of followers, but, at the end of the day, where are these people?

Despite being moved, motivated, and pumped, the enthusiasm dies. Do you wish to know why? Living your dream is hard. It takes discipline to set the alarm before dawn breaks, rise, and hit the pavement. It is difficult to persevere time and again if you come up against setbacks, obstacles, and roadblocks. It takes determination to get up every time you fall when you continuously come up against a wall or when everyone has given up on you, or you are the only one there.

“The most essential factor is persistence–the determination to never allow your energy or enthusiasm to be dampened by the discouragement that must inevitably come.” –James Whitcomb Riley

If you desire to succeed, you have to persevere. No matter how many times you fail, you have to believe. You have to know that failure is only temporary. You cannot let it defeat you. It is not an option.

You have to lay it all on the line. You have to hunger for it. You have to desire to succeed wholeheartedly. You have to be willing to commit, to dig deep within you for the courage to persist. You have to rise each time. You have to overcome the excuses that surface telling you it is too hard, that it will not make a difference if you slack this one time.

“Never give up on a dream just because of the time it will take to accomplish it. The time will pass anyway.”

You have to earn the glory with endurance, with the will, with determination, with commitment. You have to keep coming back despite the doubt, despite the fear, despite the status quo.

The process of attaining your dream is difficult. It is not comfortable. You may have to go through hell to find the fire within you. You have to take responsibility. You have to strive for excellence, to put your heart and soul into every action, to commit. You have to do it to the best of your ability no matter how many times you fall short. You have to press on with purpose.

Persist. Select and focus on one idea. Go after it. Do not lose sight of it. Re-engage with it daily. Visualize it. If you are willing to fight, to persist, if you desire it, then it is yours.

When you expended every ounce of energy you have, when you have held the line, when you persisted no matter how much ridicule and criticism you received when you rose every time, the universe finally rewards your efforts.

“Concerning all acts of initiative (and creation), there is one elementary truth the ignorance of which kills countless ideas and splendid plans: that the moment one definitely commits oneself, then Providence moves too. A whole stream of events issues from the decision, raising in one’s favor all manner of unforeseen incidents, meetings, and material assistance, which no man could have dreamt would have come his way.” –William H. Murray

And, you—which path will you embrace? Will you have the courage to brave the storm to follow your dreams because you have come too far, or will you die a dreamer?
